Hey Guys,
I have a Deere 4115 with a 410 front loader. Any sugestions on a PTO driven pump? I have a small lake and would like to draw water out for a side field and garden. I think Northern Tools has one. Any ideas? Also I would like ot hear from people who have welded or installed hooks on the top of the front loader to attach chains etc. for pulling.

If the Northern Tool pump is the Italian made one Mark has it seems pretty good. The pumps have been backordered for quite awhile and it'd be interesting if they're available again.
Below is a link to a manufacturer of pto pumps intended for irrigation work but these may be beyond your needs. You may be aware that the max vertical distance these pumps can draw is about 20' or less. If water has to be pumped up hill, some pumps support only ahead around 80'. ....

Ridgerunner; I don't know a thing about irrigation pumps, but I have welded hooks on the top of the bucket of my 430 loader. First I welded a two and one half by eight inch piece of quarter inch plate on the top of the bucket for reinforcment then welded the hooks to them about three inches in from each end of the bucket. Others prefer a single hook in the center of the bucket to avoid springing the loader frame from hooking to only one end of the bucket. I may add a third hook in the center for that reason, so far I just make sure that both hooks are suporting what I'm lifting. good luck, Frank. ....

I haven't seen Northern Tool advertise the PTO pump for quite some time and I don't see it in their current listings.
I think you need three hooks. The one in the center should be a big tow hook. It will allow you to pick up and re-position your three point implements and works well with ropes and straps.
On the bucket ends you should mount chain hooks. I use mine mostly to shorten to chain and almost always run the chain over the center hook to keep the pull centered.
You can weld or drill to mount the hooks. I drilled mine. The center hook should have some sort of backing.... I went a little over-board last time with a slab of 1/2 thick steel.
My chain hooks are attached to forged eye bolts with 1/2 inch threaded shanks and large, heavy duty washers to help spread the load. ....

I puchased a six roller pump from TSC for $94. Northern does have them if you search through their website, they are not in the catalogue. AgriSupply also has them for catalogue order. Cast iron rollers run from $75 to $120, stainless rollers run around $375. Good luck ....

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate the input. I will look into a few of the pumps. As far as the hooks on the front bucket goes, I picked up 2 heavy duty (5000 lb) D-rings about three inches long with brackets that I plan to weld to each end of the bucket. I also picked up a tow hook that I will weld to the middle of the bucket. A few people sugested that I use some plating to back up the center hook. Do I need to do this if I weld or just when I drill? By the way any body got pictures of pumps or how you installed hooks? ....

RR you will need some meat in the middle of the bucket to attach a hook with out bending things when you use it.
I would also suggest a good piece of angle across the top edge of your bucket. That area is also a little light. ....

Very Nice job. I will try and post some pictures of what I have done if I can figure out how to. I like what you did with the hitch. I put a ball hitch on my box blade to pull my trailers around. ....
